Professional Path

Dr. Ashli Hayes has been working as a Registered Psychologist (NLPB #604) in Newfoundland and Labrador since 2017.

She completed her Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) from Memorial University of Newfoundland, including clinical training at Eastern Health, Memorial University’s Student Wellness and Counselling Centre, and the University of Ottawa’s Centre for Psychological Services and Research.

Dr. Hayes is passionate about providing engaging and collaborative psychological assessment, treatment and training.

She worked as a staff psychologist in Eastern Health’s Eating Disorder Transitions program where she provided assessment and treatment to adolescents and adults with eating disorders and disordered eating in consultation with the HOPE Program.

She has also served as the Training Director for the Eastern Health Pre-doctoral Residency Program in Clinical Psychology where she provided administration, teaching and supervision for psychologists in training.

Dr. Hayes has also provided psychology treatment in private practice and taught in the Memorial University PsyD program.

She is currently an Associate Professor in the Memorial University Faculty of Medicine’s Psychiatry Residency Program where she provides a core training experience in psychodynamic psychotherapy.

Dr. Hayes is a Certified ISTDP Therapist, having completed a 3-year, advanced training program in Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (2021-2024). She is enthusiastic about providing clients with this evidence-informed and collaborative treatment through her private practice.
